Job Title: CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEER

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Construction Project Engineer to join our team in Urbandale, Iowa. This full-time position plays a critical role in supporting project execution by maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating communication between field and office teams, and assisting with quality control, procurement, and progress tracking.

This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment and is committed to accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Project Documentation Management
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, logs, and drawing updates
  • Track project deadlines and maintain organized, up-to-date records
  • Ensure accurate and timely flow of information between office and field teams
Field & Office Coordination
  • Assist with look-ahead schedules and short-term work planning
  • Support coordination with subcontractors and vendors
  • Prepare organized meeting notes and track follow-up action items
Quality & Progress Tracking
  • Assist with QA/QC documentation and inspection processes
  • Review work to ensure alignment with drawings and specifications
  • Identify discrepancies early and escalate appropriately
  • Maintain accurate progress reporting and documentation
  • Maintain procurement and material tracking logs
  • Track deliveries and verify quantities received
  • Report and document discrepancies promptly
  • Structured with clear expectations and defined processes
  • Professional and team-oriented atmosphere

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or scheduling tools preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work safely on active construction sites
