Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in Urbandale, Iowa. This role involves handling a variety of tax-related tasks, including individual and business tax preparations, bookkeeping, payroll, and sales tax processes. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in tax preparation and excel in collaborative environments.

Responsibilities:

- Perform monthly bookkeeping tasks to ensure accurate financial records.

- Prepare payroll and manage sales tax filings in compliance with regulations.

- Assist in the preparation and entry of individual and business tax returns.

- Handle simpler tax returns while contributing to the accuracy of more complex filings.

- Utilize Access Tax software for efficient and precise tax preparation.

- Collaborate with the team to ensure all tax processes are completed on schedule.

- Work within a 40-hour workweek, with occasional overtime as needed.

- Support the review process by providing accurate tax documentation to senior staff. Requirements - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation.

- Proficiency in handling individual and business tax returns.

- Familiarity with bookkeeping and payroll processes.

- Experience with Access Tax or similar tax preparation software.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

- Commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy in all tasks.
