Position Summary
A Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, and providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver must ensure the vehicle complies with the Company’s safety standards before operating, adhere to all Company, state and federal regulations, and complete Vehicle Condition Reports (VCRs) daily to address any defects promptly.
Principal Responsibilities- Perform complete pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls.
- Safely operateਿੱਮ the truck along the designated route and to the disposal site, reading route sheets and following maps.
- Operate manual/automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
- Interact courteously with all customers, dispatchers, and coworkers to ensure timely service.
- Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers per departmental procedures.
- Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and clean spills, adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain vehicle readiness, cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body as needed.
- Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports.
- Meet departmental productivity standards to service all customers efficiently.
- Follow all safety policies and participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.
- Perform additional job‑related duties as assigned.
- Exhibit good customer service skills, honesty, trustworthiness, and professional conduct.
- Use effective time‑management and follow through on challenges.
- Adhere to company policies, promote safety standards, and avoid taking inappropriate risks.
- Take pride in work and strive to achieve all goals.
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
$25.75 HR/USD
