Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level 1 trauma and Epic charting experience in Illinois.
Responsibilities- Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital
- Position involves caring for a diverse, high-acuity patient population in a Level 1 trauma setting
- Schedule consists of 12-hour mid shifts from 11:00AM to 11:00PM, three days per week
- Requires 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, each 13 hours, with on-site response within one hour
- Includes a mandatory two-week night shift rotation for all travelers
- Uses Epic EMR system; experience required
- Manage high-acuity patient care, assessment, planning, and intervention based on ongoing evaluation
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team, patients, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation of all care provided and adhere to safety standards
- Participate in departmental competencies and support professional development of colleagues
- Maximum of 7 days scheduled time off allowed per 13-week contract
- Returning travelers may not be on assignment for more than one year without a 6-month break
- Scrub and dress code policies must be followed as set by the facility
- Travel partners are not permitted for this assignment
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary licenses accepted
- Minimum of one year relevant emergency nursing experience required, three years preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Documented recent Level 1 trauma experience
- Documented Epic EMR experience
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
