Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department role requiring Illinois RN licensure, Level 1 Trauma, and Epic charting experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting
- Serves a Level 1 Trauma patient population
- Night shifts, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Two 13-hour call shifts required per 6-week period with a one-hour onsite response expectation
- All travelers participate in a required 2-week night rotation
- Epic EMR charting is required
- Responsible for performing comprehensive assessments, implementing plans of care, and adapting interventions based on patient needs
- Collaborates with providers, families, and healthcare team members to deliver emergency care
- Documents patient care accurately and keeps records up to date
- Promotes a safe and supportive environment for staff and patients, reporting and correcting hazards as needed
- Provides feedback and support for peer professional development
- Must not have worked at the facility for more than one year without a six-month break before returning
- No travel partners permitted for this assignment
- RTO (requested time off) not to exceed 7 days during a 13-week contract
- Active Illinois RN license or temporary permit
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant ED nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Experience with Epic EMR charting and Level 1 Trauma center required
- Associate degree in Nursing minimum; BSN preferred
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
