Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a current IL license, EPIC experience, and Level 1 trauma background.

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital
• Day shifts from 9:00AM to 9:30PM with a required 2-week nights rotation during the assignment
• Requires 2 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule, with onsite arrival within one hour
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Care for trauma and emergency patients in a Level 1 Trauma setting
• EPIC EMR is used and prior experience is required
• Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in a fast-paced emergency environment
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation
• Collaborate with providers, families, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care
• Participate in patient and staff safety initiatives by following and reporting safety protocols
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract
• Assignment rotations cannot extend beyond one year without a required six-month break before returning
• No travel partners accepted for this assignment
• Scrub color and dress code will be provided before start

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of three years relevant nursing experience
• Demonstrated Level 1 trauma experience required
• Prior use of EPIC charting required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility—local candidates are not eligible
