Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU night shift position requiring Level 3 or higher NICU experience, Trauma 1 background, and proficiency with Epic EMR.

• Position is in the Neonatal ICU (NICU) of a hospital
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Level 3 or higher NICU with trauma designation
• Care for critically ill newborns and assist with specialized neonatal procedures
• Epic EMR is used and candidate experience is required
• Provide direct neonatal care, including monitoring intake/output, medication administration, and breastfeeding support
• Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds and report on assigned patients
• Adhere to safety protocols and unit standards
• Staff are responsible for up-to-date and accurate documentation of all care provided
• Time off requests may not exceed seven days per 13-week contract
• 30-day advance notice required for cancellation after assignment start
• No travel partners are accepted
• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded
• Scrub color requirements and dress code information not specified

• Active Illinois RN license, temporary license accepted
• Minimum three years of recent Level 3 or higher NICU experience in a Trauma 1 hospital
• Current BLS and NRP certifications from the American Heart Association
• Associate’s degree in nursing (ASN) required
• Epic charting experience required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• No previous assignments exceeding one year at Carle Health within the past six months
