Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Observation Unit position requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic charting experience.

• Position in the Observation Unit on a medical floor
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• Care for medical patients requiring close observation and telemetry monitoring
• Use of Epic EMR is required
• Level 1 Trauma environment
• Responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, documentation, and implementation of individualized care plans
• Expected to assess and maintain IV sites per policy and start new IVs as needed
• Must attend at least five out of six staff meetings annually
• Adherence to documentation standards is monitored through quarterly audits
• Monitor and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• RTO not to exceed seven days per 13-week contract
• Candidates may not have been continuously on assignment for more than one year at the facility; a six-month break in service is required before returning
• Travel partners are not accepted for this position

• Active IL RN license in good standing or temporary license accepted
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting required
• Epic charting experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
