Supervisory Environmental Protection Specialist
Position Overview:
Incumbent serves as an expert Environmental & Historic Preservation (EHP) advisor to the Region 7 Mitigation Division. Incumbent manages EHP staff and oversees grant project reviews to ensure compliance with all applicable EHP laws, requirements, and directives. Incumbent provides technical advisory assistance to State, Tribal and local governments.

Duties
Supervising and managing staff within the Mitigation Division, Environmental and Historic Branch
Overseeing and completing Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) grant program environmental compliance reviews
Providing environmental planning and historic preservation policy and project compliance support and technical assistance to FEMA’s programs and operations as well as State, Tribal, and local governments
Collaborating with FEMA headquarters program staff, regional staff, and field staff
Managing highly complex projects with short and long-term objectives
Facilitating often unprecedented resolutions with multiple stakeholders
Reviewing, drafting, and finalizing agreement documents, standard operating procedures, policy, guidance, resources, or tools – especially those related to streamlining environmental and historic preservation (EHP) compliance reviews and process improvements across non-disaster related programs
