Overview
University of Illinois Urbana‑Champaign is seeking a Professor‑Rank Director of the Actuarial Science and Risk Management (ASRM) Program. The appointment is full‑time, tenured and offers a unique opportunity to shape one of the nation’s top actuarial science programs.
Responsibilities- Oversee faculty recruitment, development and retention.
- Promote academic excellence, curricular innovation and student outcomes.
- Manage financial planning, budgetary priorities and resource allocation.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaborations across campus and with industry partners.
- Provide service to the department, university and the profession.
- Ph.D. in actuarial science, statistics, risk management, finance, data science or a closely related field.
- Eligibility for a tenured appointment at the rank of Full Professor.
- A record of nationally and internationally recognized scholarship.
- Proven experience in academic leadership and service.
- Demonstrated teaching competence and ability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills.
- A compelling vision for advancing ASRM’s educational and research missions.
Salary range $135,000 to $240,000. The position includes a partial teaching release, an administrative stipend and an eight‑month faculty appointment paid over 12 months.
