The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invites applications for the position of Visiting Teaching Associate - Math at the University Laboratory High School. Uni High is a 5-year public school serving approximately 330 academically motivated students in grades 8–12. This is a 100% full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track visiting academic appointment for the 2026–2027 school year, beginning August 2026, contingent upon the successful completion of a fingerprint-based criminal background check.
The position may become regular at a later date. A laboratory mission of innovative curriculum development, outreach to other schools and the community, and/or involvement with professional organizations is part of the overall job responsibilities.

The Visiting Teaching Associate - Math will be responsible for teaching four courses in the Math Department and contributing to the fulfillment of the Uni High mission through the completion of an individual Lab Mission.
Duties & Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses in Math and demonstrate innovative curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Maintain records of individual student achievement and evaluate students on a daily basis
- Support Uni High’s shared vision and goals regarding Math
- Complete a laboratory mission of innovative curriculum development, outreach to other schools and the community, and/or involvement with professional organizations
- A degree in Math, Math Education, or a related field
- Professional Educator’s License (PEL)
- Master s degree in Education, Math, or related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a middle, secondary, or post-secondary school setting
- Experience teaching students from a wide range of backgrounds
- Ability and willingness to assist with co and extracurricular activities, such as Math Team
- Experience creating a learning environment responsive to student needs
- Experience teaching in one or more of the following content areas: algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus and/or statistics
This is a 100% full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track visiting academic appointment. The expected start date is August 16, 2026. The salary range for this position is $52,000 - $72,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.
