The Anthropology Department at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biological Anthropology beginning fall semester 2017. Applicants must have expertise in both bioarchaeology and forensic anthropology.

Requirements of the position are that the candidate demonstrates an active research program in bioarchaeology and forensic anthropology. The successful candidate will be able to teach a 2-2 course load of introductory courses in biological anthropology, elective undergraduate courses, and graduate courses in areas of specialization. Strong preference will be given to candidates who currently have or will actively pursue certification as a diplomate in the American Board of Forensic Anthropology (DABFA). The successful candidate will act as the official forensic anthropologist for southern Nevada and will be expected to oversee the forensic anthropology workload and the internship program at the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner.

In addition, preference will be given to candidates with a plan of action to recruit and mentor graduate students in the department's PhD program and to those who have a plan for obtaining external funding for research.
