Pharmacy Operations Manager

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolves customer complaints, helps respond to customers’ requests in a timely manner and answers non-clinical questions to ensure a positive customer experience.

• Assisting pharmacist in patient care including registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, counting, and verification where allowed by law.
• Completing patient and physician calls under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assisting with healthcare service offerings such as vaccines and health screenings where allowed by law.
• Delegating, directing, and assigning non-clinical work in the pharmacy.
• Preparing and filing required reports and records.
• Managing core pharmacy workflow, coordinating the daily schedule, and ensuring adequate supplies.
• Managing inventory preparation and ensuring compliance with administrative activities.
• Driving new technology/process rollout and championing change.
• Maintaining equipment operation and collaborating on recordkeeping.
• Adhering to Good Faith Dispensing policies after pharmacist direction.
• Applying asset protection techniques and monitoring alarm systems.
• Communicating prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist.
• Ensuring accurate processing of insurance claims and following up with insurers.
• Assisting in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, quality, and customer service.
• Managing Community Outreach Portal and coordinating off-site immunization clinics.

• Leading performance management of technicians, including discipline and termination decisions.
• Hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling technicians.
• Monitoring technician training completion.
• Identifying gaps in knowledge and supporting training.
• Monitoring licensure, registration, and certification status.
• Ensuring compliance with selection, recruitment, record retention procedures.

• Maintaining PTCB certification and state-required certifications.
• Enhancing knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare.
• Obtaining necessary certifications, education credits, and training modules.
• Seeking professional development via performance improvement plans.

• Communicating with the pharmacy team and relaying messages from support centers.
• Participating in store/pharmacy meetings, including brief check‑ins with the Store Manager.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in certain locations).

• Previous people management or leadership experience.
• Previous Walgreens experience with an Exceeding Expectation last performance evaluation.
