Overview
Job Title: Quality Control Manager (Specialized Ingredients & Compliance)
Job Description: Element Staffing is recruiting for a Quality Control Manager for a recognized leader in natural ingredient manufacturing and specialized flavor development located in Upland, CA. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a high-performing team, add to a positive work culture, and shape the quality systems of an industry pioneer dedicated to clean-label excellence. The QC Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, regulatory compliance, and operational integrity of our facility.
Experienced candidates with a strong background in flavors, ingredients, food science, microbiology, or chemical standards are urged to apply.
- Lead QC Coordination: Direct the implementation and maintenance of the comprehensive Quality Control program in accordance with established food safety procedures.
- Team Supervision: Manage the daily activities of QC Technicians and Leads to ensure all in-process and finished materials meet rigorous technical specifications.
- Audit & Compliance: Conduct internal and third-party audits to ensure total adherence to federal, state, BRC and SQF code regulations.
- Safety Verification: Verify HACCP Critical Control Point monitoring and manage Hold/Release procedures for all production runs.
- Technical Documentation: Ensure all test data is recorded, non-conformance reports are investigated, and digital paperwork is completed with 100% accuracy.
- Equipment & Facility Oversight: Perform routine equipment calibrations and ensure the facility consistently meets safety and regulatory standards.
- Training & Mentorship: Develop and deliver specialized training programs on GMPs, safety protocols, and product quality standards.
- Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate effectively with leadership and production teams to resolve quality issues and support ad hoc initiatives.
- Years of
Experience:
3–5+ years in a quality supervisory or management role within a production or laboratory environment. Preferably with Flavors, Ingredients, or Food & Beverage industry experience. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering;
Minor in Chemistry is a plus. - Shift/Travel: Standard manufacturing/laboratory hours; flexibility for special projects or regulatory audits as assigned.
- Requirements: Proficiency in MS Office and Genesis software; certifications in BRC, SQF, PCQI, and HACCP preferred; strong attention to detail and a commitment to operational excellence.
- Compensation: Competitive; based on experience.
