Position Summary
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, delivers high‑quality instructional services to students with special needs in kindergarten through grade 12. This role requires a strong commitment to collaborative planning and implementation of individualized student programs, including providing specialized instruction, academic support, and consultation with general education staff to promote student success.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)
- State Teacher Certifications (preferred):
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Teaching
- Endorsement:
Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred - Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR certification, if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest X‑ray, if applicable
- Current health certificate, as required by state or contract
- Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
