SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR-ENT (T232725)
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR-ENT to maintain integrity of the operating system environment. The role includes performing system software upgrades, planning and scheduling, testing, and coordination; workstation and server administration setup; disk space planning and management; maintaining growth statistics, space forecasts, tape libraries, and software and hardware inventories; performing data backups and recoveries; monitoring and maintaining continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements;
providing recommendations regarding hardware and system software planning and budgeting; and maintaining production change control schedule with participation in change control. This position commits to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis.
- Install, configure, and manage university IT systems and software.
- Troubleshoot system outages and user issues.
- Document installation and update procedures and problem resolutions.
- Be available for on-call duties as a member of a rotating schedule.
Annual Salary: $60,835 - $98,855
QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Information Systems or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
