Postdoctoral Fellow – Center for Theory of Emergent Quantum Matter (C-TEQ)

Position Specifics

Penn State’s interdisciplinary Center for Theory of Emergent Quantum Matter (C-TEQ), within the Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS) Quantum Hub, invites applications for several C-TEQ Fellow postdoctoral scholar positions. Start dates are flexible but can be immediate. Applicants should have expertise in quantum information, quantum materials, quantum computation, AI and numerical tools for emergent quantum matter, quantum geometry, Majorana modes, fractional quantum anomalous Hall effect, and related topics.

The Fellows will collaborate with faculty from physics, mathematics, computer science, materials science and engineering, electrical engineering, and information science, including Professors Zhen Bi, Long Qing Chen, Swaroop Ghosh, Vasant Honavar, Thomas Iadecola, Jainendra Jain, Ribhu Kaul, Xiantao Li, Chaoxing Liu, Vincent Meunier, Lukas Muechler, Marcos Rigol, Sarah Shandera, Abhinav Verma, and Binghai Yan. Fellows will also benefit from advanced computational resources at ICDS.

Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. is required by the start of the position.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for the C-TEQ Fellows will be $80,000 for the first year, with an additional one-time award of $5,000 toward research-related expenses such as conferences.
