BAYADA’s special needs caregivers - Direct Support Professionals DSPs - work one-on-one in home and community settings as a companion and mentor for individuals with intellectual or developmental disability to help them reach their full potential.

NO HEALTH CARE EXPERIENCE? NO PROBLEM! PAID TRAINING PROVIDED
! As an apprentice, you’ll get paid a competitive wage while you train and gain skills to help people with I/DD, such as autism, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome. You’ll teach them to do things for themselves, helping them live more independent, purposeful lives.

- Provide personal care assistance (dressing, grooming, basic hygiene)
- Accompany clients on errands and appointments
- Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities
- Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation
- Participate in community integration activities

- One year experience working with intellectual and development disabilities (preferred, but not required)
- High school diploma or equivalent
