MRI Technologist POSITION SPECIFICS
The Social, Life and Engineering Sciences Imaging Center (SLEIC (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).), a unit within the Social Science Research Institute at Penn State University has an opening for an MRI Technologist.
The imaging center contributes to Penn State's thriving research environment by providing state‑of‑the‑art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) (primarily brain imaging) and data analysis facilities. We are looking for a motivated, independent, well‑organized individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
The 40‑hour a week work schedule will vary based on the weekly scanning schedule but will require at a minimum 3‑4 afternoons/evenings until 8:00 PM or 9:00 PM EST and every other Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST.
Responsibilities- Scanning adult and pediatric research participants, using a broad range of established and new methods
- Ensuring participant safety
- Collaboration on the development of new imaging protocols
- Assisting investigators with troubleshooting and implementing changes to existing protocols
- Conducting investigator/staff safety training
- Other related duties.
Experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging including high‑field scanning is preferred. Experience conducting MRI research in a research‑oriented facility is preferred.
RequirementsAll candidates for this position must be registered as an RT/MRI Technologist with MRI certification.

3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
Required Certifications- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
Salary & BenefitsThe salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $56,200.00 - $81,500.00.
