Tenure‑track Artificial Intelligence Positions at Penn State Harrisburg:
Penn State University Harrisburg is hiring multiple tenure‑track faculty for a bold cluster of hires focused on Artificial Intelligence across the School of Humanities, School of Business, and School of Science, Engineering, and Technology. This role complements a strong cohort of existing AI faculty and supports the launch of the B.S. in Artificial Intelligence in Fall 2026.

Assistant Professor, IST/AI — appointment in Middletown, Pennsylvania, beginning July 2026 at the Harrisburg campus.
Position Summary
The School of Business Administration (SBA) invites applications for a tenure‑line faculty position in Artificial Intelligence. The successful candidate will conduct cutting‑edge interdisciplinary research, teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses (residential, online, or hybrid), supervise and mentor students, pursue external funding, engage in service at the college and university, and collaborate with faculty, industry partners, and across the university.
The candidate will advance AI knowledge through high‑impact research, teaching, and design of AI systems that support human goals, needs, and values. Areas of interest include human‑AI collaboration, AI ethics, human‑centered and socially responsible AI, intelligent interfaces for complex systems (e.g., digital health, autonomous systems), and transformative AI applications addressing major societal and business challenges.
Qualifications
- PhD in informatics, information systems, computer science, social sciences, or a closely related discipline before the appointment start date.
- Background in generative artificial intelligence. Backgrounds in data analytics or related fields may also be considered.
