Overview
The Department of English at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for full-time teaching-faculty positions (non-tenure-track) in English. The start date for these positions is August 2025.
The duties include teaching introductory undergraduate in-resident courses in the Program in Writing and Rhetoric. Appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Teaching Professor.
Responsibilities- Lecturers and Assistant Teaching Professors teach seven courses per year.
- Associate Teaching Professors teach six courses per year.
- These are term appointments with the possibility of renewal. Rank and length of term are determined by education and qualifications.
A Master’s degree or higher in English or a related field is required by the appointment date.

To be considered, submit an application, a cover letter, and a curriculum vitae (with the names and contact information of two references) and, if relevant, past student evaluations of teaching effectiveness.
