Schedule:

9:30am-1:30pm (slightly alternate schedule on mass days generally Fridays 10:30am-2:30pm). 4 Classes daily, 35-45 minutes each.
Pay Rate: $80/Day

Position Rationale &

Description:

As a preschool-8 Blue-Ribbon School of Excellence and Ohio Designated STEM School with over 700 students, Gesu has a need for a K-6 Technology teacher to teach technology and foster creativity and critical thinking in students. This teacher will develop lessons and instruct all K-6 Technology classes and perform other teacher duties as required. Our current Technology Teacher has been moved to teach junior high science long term and this position is long-term coverage until our Science Teacher returns, date to be determined.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline applicable to teaching assignment; required.
  • Master's degree in related areas preferred, not required.
  • Practicing Roman Catholic preferred, not required.
  • Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels is a plus.
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, and ability to differentiate instruction based on student learning styles.
  • Knowledge of computer concepts and technology curriculum.
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to integrate technology and 21st Century teaching methods into daily instruction.
  • Ability to utilize software programs such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace for Education, online grade books, and other technology software to enhance student learning.
  • Ability to facilitate Project Based Learning (PBL) with students and incorporate STREAM education.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with administration, staff, students, and parents.
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation regarding performance and professional growth.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement K-6 Technology lessons and activities.
  • Instruct all K-6 Technology classes.
  • Perform other teacher duties as required; this is long-term coverage until the Science Teacher returns.
