• Provide a well‑stocked, well‑maintained cheese shop department while delivering superior customer service.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh cheese on a daily basis while maintaining all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Grow your knowledge of specialty cheeses from around the world.
• When eligible, become an owner in the company, contributing to H‑E‑B’s owner‑owned model focused on people and quality.

• Provides superior customer service.
• Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person.
• Answers customer questions regarding products and assists them with selections.
• Uses suggestive selling techniques and advanced product knowledge to meet customer needs and build sales.
• Works with the deli manager to develop sales goals and track against them.

• Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh products effectively.
• Slices, makes specialty cuts, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality.
• Assists in technical areas as needed (e.g., basic set‑up and cleanup processes).

• Clens and sanitizes display cases.
• Operates and maintains equipment properly.
• Complies with H‑E‑B food safety and sanitation standards, and department/Store operating procedures.

• Minimum age 18 (mandatory).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months of experience in cheese sales.
• Completion of company orientation, and food safety and sanitation training upon hire.
• Advanced knowledge of top cheese families and selections, and the cheese‑making process.
• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (PC, symbol scanner, scales, label machine).
• Strong customer service skills.
• Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reading and writing skills.
• Planning and organizing skills.
• Ability to function in a fast‑paced, retail environment and work with customers attentively.
