Med-Surg RN – Units 1W & 2E (Summary) Radius Rule: 50 miles
Required:
Copy of unexpired Driver’s License Disclosure:
Any professional license hits must be disclosed at submission Units: 1W Med Surg (CC 3427): 28 beds (all private) – mainly post-surgical & ortho 2E Med Surg (CC 3424): 29 beds (all private; includes 2N & 2S) – Med Surg, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative/hospice, low-volume inpatient chemo, COVID patients May be assigned to both “clean” and “dirty” (COVID) hallways – must be comfortable Requirements:
Certs: BLS only Ratios: 1:6–7 Staffing & Support:
Clinical Manager acts as charge/manager (days; takes patients only if census >24) Nights:
Resource nurse with full assignment CNAs: 2 on days per unit; none on nights Scheduling: RN
Shifts:
12s – 7a–7:30p / 7p–7:30a Self-scheduling & block scheduling allowed (based on unit needs) Weekends:
Every other weekend (Sat/Sun) + 2 Fridays per schedule Holidays:
Rotational with core staff Clinical Details:
Tele:
Remote monitoring (no monitors on unit); RNs do not read strips Drips:
Heparin; possible MSO4 for comfort (no cardiac gtts) Respiratory:
BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow (managed by RT) Floating:
Only to other Med-Surg units Orientation: 1 shift with a preceptor Dress Code:
Navy blue scrubs (jackets must also be navy)
