- Own insurance A/R follow-up for No-Fault and Workers’ Comp claims across multiple orthopedic providers — managing work queues, checking claim statuses, documenting actions, and escalating issues to keep reimbursement moving.
- Resolve denials & underpayments; review EOBs, identify and correct claim errors, submit corrected claims, and prepare written appeals with supporting documentation.
- Identify payer trends, track denial patterns, flag systemic issues, and recommend account adjustments when appropriate.
- Maintain thorough documentation; record detailed notes for every account worked, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the billing/RCM team; communicate claim statuses, share payer insights, and support team goals with related tasks as needed.
- 2+ years of medical A/R and denial-management experience, ideally with No-Fault and Workers’ Comp across multiple carriers; solid understanding of ICD-10, CPT, payer rules, and managed care regulations.
- Proficiency with payer portals, Microsoft Excel/Word, and strong general computer skills;
Athena experience is a plus.
