Job Summary
Manager, Clinical Site Operations at Velocity Clinical Research, Inc. is responsible for overseeing clinical operations staff, ensuring quality and compliance, and driving site performance in partnership with the Site Director.
Duties / Responsibilities- Work with the Site Director to meet/exceed the site’s financial, operational and study-specific targets.
- Support the identification and implementation of strategies to expand research capabilities aligned with the overall site business plan.
- Maintain VCR quality standards, ensuring clinical studies and patient data collection are in accordance with ICH GCPs.
- Address study and/or clinical quality matters with Sponsors, IRBs, and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and manage site staffing plans to support efficient research conduct.
- Lead patient recruitment planning, adjusting strategies based on results to meet study-specific targets.
- Manage site staff performance, delegating assignments and providing ongoing training.
- Communicate performance expectations and guidelines to staff.
- Build relationships with external medical practices, pharmacies, and healthcare professionals to aid recruitment.
- Support business development activities with sponsors, CROs, and third-party vendors.
- Share best practices with other VCR site locations to enhance operational competencies.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of feasibility questionnaires and essential regulatory documents.
- Attend relevant industry and VCR meetings.
- Manage facility and IT needs for smooth operations.
- Expertise in project management.
- Knowledge of field organizational strategies.
- Extensive knowledge of clinical research.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to generate business correspondence, create forms, and generate reports as required.
- Professionalism and integrity in all actions.
- Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork, cooperation, self‑control, and flexibility.
- Effective written and verbal communication in English.
- Up to 10% travel as needed for meetings and conferences.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree suggested or equivalent clinical research experience.
- 5+ years of clinical management experience or equivalent experience in the clinical research industry.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
