Instructor of Computer Science – 9‑month, full‑time. Teaching requirements include face‑to‑face and distance education, potentially including evening and/or weekend classes, along with teaching dual‑enrollment classes at the USC Union campus, USC Union Laurens location, and on‑site at various affiliated high schools. The selected candidate will have the responsibility of teaching introductory computer science courses and any upper‑level courses as needed. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, as well as participation in university and community service, is expected.
Responsibilities- Teach five courses per semester.
- Advising students and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge in the regular teaching field.
- Continuing professional development and utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties.
- Maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.
- Serving on college committees and participating in faculty governance and student co‑curricular activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 18 graduate credit hours in Computer Science from an accredited university by the beginning date of employment.
- Credential necessary for departmental approval to teach introductory and upper‑level courses as needed.
