The Nursing department has an opening for a Full-Time Interim Registered Nurse at Rainy crest Long Term Care. The successful candidate must meet the normal requirements of the job and possess the following qualifications:


QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:

  • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Current CPR certification;
  • Strong nursing practice, skills, and judgment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal communication abilities;
  • Critical thinking, leadership, and mentoring skills;
  • Ability to work with all computer systems and applications;
  • Behaviors consistent with Riverside Health Care’s Code of Conduct;
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends;

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform according to the Standards of Nursing Practice set by the College of Nurses of Ontario and in compliance with Riverside Health Care policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Accept clinical responsibility and professional accountability for the care delivered to residents.
  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, fulfilling nursing responsibilities.
  • Comply with The Ethical Framework for Nurses in Ontario (College of Nurses of Ontario).

  • SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Provide nursing care to residents with stabilized physical, mental, social, and emotional needs.
  • Assist the Registered Nurse with care for residents with unstabilized needs.
  • Assist with assessment and development of residents’ needs, nursing care plans, and evaluations.
  • Observe and report signs and symptoms pertinent to residents’ conditions.
  • Perform procedures learned during training, assuming responsibility in the absence of a Registered Nurse.
  • Perform treatments, report to the RN, and document in the resident’s treatment record.
  • Assist residents with nutritional needs and fluid balance, reporting problems to the RN.
  • Assist and direct Health Care Aides, maintaining good working relationships.
  • Support residents’ rehabilitation and participate in programs like Reality Orientation, as directed.
  • Encourage and assist residents with activities of daily living.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive environment meeting residents’ physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
  • Ensure safety and welfare of residents, familiar with Emergency Plans.
  • Provide support and guidance to residents and families.
  • Deal courteously with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Uphold the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Engage in personal and professional growth activities.
  • Work competently with computer systems like Point Click Care, Word, Excel.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement programs.
  • Perform all work safely, adhering to regulations and policies, including Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

    • Director of Care, Rainy crest Long Term Care
    • Salary as per Union Schedule


    HOURS OF WORK:
    Combination of days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.


    POSITION AVAILABLE:
    Full-time interim position, starting ASAP, with end date to be determined.


    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
