POSITION SUMMARY:Showcase Entertainment Group is searching for a Stage Manager to join our national tour of The Cat in the Hat. The Lighting & Cue Operator will work collaboratively with the Production Manager, Producer, and touring crew members. This production is currently touring in New Zealand and will be embarking on its first tour of the United States in Spring 2026.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to the following)- Ensure stage is a safe working environment for crew and cast
- Give show calls to company as required
- Learn and perform show cues as required during the show
- Setup up props, set and wardrobe as required
- Packout props, set and equipment in a safe and orderly manner into the container after the show
- Run Toolbox Health & Safety (H&S) meeting with local crew at pack in
- Delegate & Manage tasks to ASM’s
- Assist unloading of container if required
- Mark up stage for set construction
- Liaise with the Venue Technician to establish that masking is in the correct place, re-tie if required, and check sightlines
- Spike LX specials
- Facilitate any remedial work on props, set & costumes in conjunction with the PM & ASM’s
- Communicate and induct cast to the venue and stage when they arrive
- Ensure stage is show ready on time for doors in conjunction with all staff
- Cast a final eye on the stage before doors to ensure masking, set and backstage light spill look fine
- Facilitate and lodge any H&S incidents to Company Manager and Producers Google Drive
- Back up touring Company Manager in the case of illness
EXPERIENCE:
- Applicants must have a deep knowledge of stage management, QLAB, and touring.
- Relevant professional theatre experience (three or more years preferred).
- Strong team players who work well under pressure
- Work collaboratively as a team member and maintain a positive attitude
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull 100 lbs, stand for extended periods of time (3+ hours), and navigate multiple levels of stairs.
- Valid driver’s license required.
