The West Vancouver Community Services Department is currently seeking a passionate Skateboard Camp Leader to join our summer camp leader team.
Candidates must be able to prepare and lead a variety of activities including skateboard lessons and games. Responsibilities may include creating lesson plans and camp itineraries, implementing policies and procedures, teaching basic to intermediate skateboard skills and safety, providing minor first aid and providing mentoring to other camp leaders and volunteers. Candidates must have strong organizational, supervisory and interpersonal skills, and must be able to work effectively with children and youth.
They must also be able to work cooperatively with staff, parents and volunteers while providing safe, quality camp programs.
The preferred candidate should have previous experience teaching skateboarding and experience working with children or running summer camps and possess the ability to be creative and fun while working with people. Must have excellent customer service, communication, organizational and program planning skills.
The Summer Camp sessions run during the daytime from June 29 – September 4, 2026.
The successful candidate will be required to supply a police information check.
Position Status:
Non-Union – Casual
Hours of Work:
Hours and days of work vary depending on position; up to 40 hours per week.
Mandatory training dates:
June 12 4 – 8 p.m. and June 13 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Rate of Pay:
$22.00 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits. This position has a pay structure that increases based on education and experience.
Closing Date:
11:59 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
