Quality Engineering
Reporting to the Quality Systems Manager, the Quality Inspector is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Responsible for receiving inspection activities, including performing inspection of incoming and outgoing hardware.
- Assist in the development and improvement of existing standards and processes (manufacturing, material handling, shipping, and receiving, etc.). Will work with process owners throughout the company to refine these processes.
- Assist in training employees in applicable processes, standards, work instructions, etc.
- Assist Quality Systems Manager with customer escapes (nonconformance), returns, corrective action requests, etc.
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action for internal and external defects.
- Gather data and develop metrics related to quality (internal and external defects).
- Assist with compliance issues relative to customer flow-downs, government regulations, etc.
- Work with outside manufacturers to improve the quality of products.
- Assist in identifying engineering issues at all stages of processes and tracking those issues to closure.
- Assist in activities associated with contract review.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, with 1‑3 years’ quality inspector experience
- Experience with quality control techniques.
- Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
- Strong written, verbal communication and analytical skills, with basic math and computer skills
- Blueprint reading
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions without direct management oversight.
