General Summary Performs responsible duties associated with the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and infrastructure in a safe and efficient manner. This includes mechanical, electrical, structural, heating, plumbing systems, and general facility upkeep.
Essential Responsibilities- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Maintain all mechanical, electrical, heating, and plumbing systems in good repair and fully functional.
- Prepare and carry out preventive maintenance plans.
- Troubleshoot to diagnose and resolve equipment failures.
- Keep maintenance areas clean and orderly.
- Submit requests for needed parts, equipment, and tools.
- Assist with and/or perform additional duties as required by operating needs or as directed by management.
- May be required to work non-regular hours.
- High School diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred.
- Licenses and/or equivalent experience to handle tasks generally associated with electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Knowledge of rules, regulations, and guidelines of federal and state agencies regarding maintenance practices.
- Requires following strict safety protocols and ability to ensure all applicable safety practices are in place and followed.
- Ability to make decisions using established precedents and resourcefulness in solving new problems.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow directions.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures, wet or humid conditions, and outdoor weather.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, electrical shock, vibration, airborne particles, loud noise, high places, hazardous materials.
- Walking, sitting, standing, climbing, crawling, stooping, crouching, talking, hearing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception.
- Regularly lift up to 40 lbs; occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
- May require wearing a respirator.
