Institutional Casework, Inc. has an immediate opening in our Metal Division for Design Engineer. This position will be at our Union City location. We offer a competitive salary and a full range of benefits.
Job Title: Design Engineer
Work Location: Union City, TN
Job Type: Full-time
Reports to: Director of Engineering - UC
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Analyze and interpret customer drawings, to prepare BOMs for project release to manufacturing
- Read customers order entry system, WinCAT, to prepare BOM's for project release to manufacturing
- Work with engineering manager or coordinator to schedule projects
- Create and modify SW models to create products for drawings or WinCAT
- Engage with manufacturing to design error free parts and understand how parts flow through the plant
- Ability to work with engineers overseers, including scheduling, prioritizing, and per reviewing their work
- Ability to manage your own projects from design, manufacturer, to assembly
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering
- 3D modeling experience, Solid Works preferred
- Sheet metal experience: punching, laser, forming, welding, etc.
- MRP experience: item master, bill of material, etc.
- Experience with sheet metal laboratory casework is a plus
- Computer software knowledge including Microsoft office products
- Excellent communication skills (phone, written, verbal)
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and detail-oriented skills and abilities
- Demonstrated success in teamwork and continuous improvement
- Strong commitment to excellence in customer service
- Self-motivated with the ability to make judgement calls and work with little supervision
- Minimum travel; may span weekends and/or holidays
