Position: Mobile Clinic Driver (On-Call)

Overview

The Mobile Van Operator (On-Call) is responsible for driving and operating TVHC’s mobile van to deliver community-based health services. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and professional operation of the vehicle, including transport to and from designated service sites, daily setup and breakdown, and basic maintenance to keep the mobile unit safe and fully functional for patients and staff.

Schedule

This is an on‑call position requiring flexibility in availability. Hours per week may vary up to 40 hours based on operational needs. While the role is on‑call, there may be additional shifts or regular hours depending on demand.

Compensation

$25.20 – $26.28 per hour, depending on experience. TVHC offers a compensation package determined by a thorough market‑based analysis and fully disclosed in accordance with California law. The pay for a selected candidate is determined by a variety of factors to ensure fair and equitable compensation, including experience, education, skills, training, licensure, certifications, and the specific scope of the role.

Responsibilities
  • Safely drive and transport the mobile dental van to and from assigned service locations and storage facilities.
  • Perform daily setup and breakdown of the mobile unit, ensuring readiness for patient care.
  • Conduct and document daily pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure the mobile dental van receives proper maintenance for optimal functionality.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance and service appointments.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and promptly report vehicle service needs.
  • Ensure the safety of all patients, staff, and equipment during transport and setup.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies within the scope of training and organizational policy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mobile unit at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience driving a mobile clinic van, bus, or similar vehicle.
  • Valid and current California Class C driver’s license with no suspensions or revocations.
  • Mechanical skills and ability to address minor vehicle issues.
  • Ability to drive to various sites as needed.
Qualifications
  • Ability to safely operate and maneuver large vehicles or mobile units.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
