Bike Workshop Technician; Part-Time - Recreation Leader

Under direct supervision by the CRS Project Specialist, the Bike Workshop Technician is responsible for fixing, maintaining, and selling bikes and assist in running the bike workshop for the City of Union City community.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES (illustrative only):

• Set-up and take down the bike workshop, which includes setting/cleaning up bike and the needed equipment.
• Perform basic bike repair on a variety of bikes.
• Maintain the inventory of bike parts and bikes.
• Provide customer service, including effective communication with customers.
• Assist CRS Project Specialist with basic cash handling duties.
• Maintain accounting records of parts sold and bike repairs completed.
• Assist with special events and other tasks as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Basic bike maintenance is desirable.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Hours will range from 5 to 20 hours a week, depending on what days and times the Bike Workshop is open.
• The Bike Workshop typically operates 2 – 5 days a week, both on weekdays and weekends:
  • Weekdays: 4 P.M. – 7 P.M.
  • Weekends: 10 A.M. – 2 P.M.
