We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Repair Technician to join a leading Company located in the Union City, CA surrounding area.
Salary: $43,680- $56,160.
The Repair Technician is primarily responsible for repairs, evaluations on customer owned products, and other tasks as requested by the department supervisor and/or manager. This role demonstrates clear knowledge of quality processes, especially working within an ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated environment. This role encompasses repair functions as highlighted within the essential job functions. The role requires the ability to solve problems, handle multitasking, and exhibit strong time management skills, in order to meet deadlines while maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities- The Repair Technician will repair, inspect, and conduct preventive maintenance of surgical systems and equipment.
- Creates and provides customer service and/or the customer accurate quotations for repairs of their products.
- Completes records of repairs and performs data entry for medical devices and follows the Repair procedure.
- The Repair Technician performs inspections of repairs in the Returns area and follows applicable procedures (Repair, RGA, Complaints).
- Performs routine review of repairs to determine if a complaint should be generated and, whenever applicable, works as or with, the investigator to determine the root cause of the complaint.
- The Repair Technician performs routine testing of medical devices to replicate device complaints and, whenever applicable, works with, the investigator to determine the root cause of the complaint.
- Reviews device master records, history records and other quality-related documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Act as the liaison technical service professional and interact with workshops, customer service providers, hospital operating room supervisors, nurses, doctors, purchasing and biomedical technicians.
- The Repair Technician troubleshoots and repairs surgical tables and related equipment in-house and if needed at the customer site.
- Complete service forms for hospitals through the company-established systems.
- Assist in coordinating and administering the flow of technical services for each service call.
- Follow up with customers, contracted field service, sales and marketing personnel over matters about part orders and additional orders with technical information.
- Self-motivation with a sense of task ownership to work and solve problems confidently, cross-functionally, collaboratively and when necessary, independently.
- Ability to read common technical drawings and documents on mechanical and/or electrical devices.
- Technical experience, preferably in a regulated environment (FDA, ISO 13485 etc.) that includes engineering drawings and/or specification review experiences.
- Ability to determine quick and efficient solutions to problems that may arise in the activities of inspection and/or repairs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal skills, and the ability to effectively communicate technical issues to people with technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Inspection and technical repair experience in the medical device field is highly desired.
