District OverviewUlysses USD 214 is located in Grant County, Ulysses, KS, centrally located between Kansas City, Denver, Wichita, Colorado Springs, Amarillo, and Pueblo. The district has two elementary schools (a pre‑K‑2 primary school and a 3‑5 elementary school), one middle school, and one high school. There are approximately 1,400–1,550 students in grades pre‑K through 12th and a teaching staff of about 100 teachers.
USD 214 is the largest 4‑A school district in southwest Kansas.
Under the direction and supervision of the Principal or designee, the counselor will plan and deliver instruction, teach and differentiate learning strategies, motivate, inspire, and assess students in social sciences. The counselor will develop and promote a high‑quality, personalized educational program aligned with Kansas State Content Standards for Middle School Social‑Emotional Learning.
QualificationsCandidates must be a K‑12 school counselor certified in Kansas or eligible for certification in Kansas. Strong oral and written communication skills, dynamic character, personality, flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to relate effectively with diverse staff, students, parents, and the Ulysses community are required.
