The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Goods In & Stores Manager to oversee our goods receiving and stores operations. In this pivotal role, you will manage the receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of goods and materials, ensuring all stock movements are accurately recorded and efficiently handled. You will lead a small team, maintain precise inventory records, and ensure materials are available when required across the business.

This position demands excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and confident leadership.

Key Responsibilities Goods Receiving & Inventory
  • Supervise the receipt of incoming goods, ensuring deliveries are thoroughly checked against purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices.
  • Inspect goods for quality and condition, reporting any damages or discrepancies promptly.
  • Unload delivery vehicles, pallets, and parcels safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and update stock locations as necessary.
  • Ensure goods are stored correctly within the stores area.
Stock Control & Reporting
  • Prepare detailed reports on stock levels, stock movements, and operational issues.
  • Organise and oversee weekly stock checks to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Participate actively in stock audits and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Monitor consumable stock such as stationery, paper towels, and refreshments.
  • Assist with monthly paint stock checks.
Distribution & Internal Supply
  • Coordinate the distribution of goods to internal departments and depots.
  • Pick and pack parts for customers and engineers efficiently.
  • Assist with picking and packing components for fabrication kits.
  • Raise requisitions with procurement for low-stock items.
Team Leadership
  • Supervise and support the warehouse and stores team.
  • Provide training, guidance, and daily operational direction.
  • Ensure efficient workflow and maintain high performance standards.
Operational Standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised stores environment.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety procedures.
  • Support other operational tasks as required.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Exceptional accuracy in data entry and stock management
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines consistently
  • Reliable with consistent work standards
  • Capacity to work with urgency and efficiency in a fast-paced setting
  • High attention to detail
  • Previous CNC experience
