Salary: £30,000 – £35,000, depending on experience

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Transport Operations Co‑ordinator on behalf of our client based in Braxted. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well‑established logistics operation where you will play a key role coordinating transport solutions between customers, hauliers and internal departments. This role would suit someone currently working as a Transport Planner, Transport Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator or Transport Administrator who is looking to join a growing logistics business.

The main purpose of the role is to coordinate and manage transport bookings on behalf of customers using a network of approved hauliers. You will act as the key link between customers, transport providers and internal departments to ensure deliveries are arranged efficiently, service levels are maintained and any operational issues are resolved quickly and professionally.

• Coordinate and book transport with approved hauliers in line with customer requirements
• Source cost‑effective and reliable transport solutions while maintaining service standards
• Liaise with customers regarding transport bookings, collections and deliveries
• Work alongside the forwarding department to arrange inbound and outbound transport
• Organise port collections and international transport movements where required
• Monitor daily transport activity to ensure on‑time performance
• Act as the main point of contact for hauliers regarding bookings and operational queries
• Manage delays, missed collections, breakdowns and service issues effectively
• Build strong working relationships with hauliers and negotiate rates where required

• Escalate operational issues to minimise disruption to warehouse operations and customer deliveries
• Ensure hauliers meet compliance standards and agreed service levels
• Obtain competitive transport quotations and support rate benchmarking
• Review and approve transport invoices against agreed rates
• Maintain accurate records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
• Track and report KPIs including service levels, cost control and haulier performance
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements

• Minimum 3 years' experience within transport or logistics coordination
• Experience working within a 3PL or third‑party logistics environment
• Strong understanding of UK and EU transport operations
• Experience dealing with third‑party hauliers and transport procurement
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
• Ability to manage multiple transport bookings in a fast‑paced environment
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Excel
• Desirable: Knowledge of import/export transport processes and documentation
• Desirable: Logistics or supply‑chain qualification

Hours: Monday – Friday, Full Time
