Supersede Recruitment are proud to be supporting our client in the appointment of a Logistics Coordinator to join their growing operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics professional with strong international freight knowledge — particularly sea freight imports from China — to take ownership of end-to-end shipment coordination across road, air and sea.
🚢 The Role
As Logistics Coordinator, you will manage day-to-day operational freight activity, ensuring smooth booking, tracking, customs clearance and final delivery. A key focus will be managing sea freight imports alongside UK domestic transport operations.
You will also play an important role in supporting approximately 8-10 exhibitions annually, coordinating pre- and post-event product movements.
Key Responsibilities International Freight (Sea & Air)- Arrange FCL/LCL and airfreight bookings with forwarders and suppliers
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation (Bills of Lading, AWB, invoices, packing lists, Certificates of Origin)
- Track ETDs/ETAs and update internal schedules
- Liaise with customs brokers and prepare clearance documentation
- Coordinate UK port collections and warehouse delivery slots
- Monitor demurrage/detention exposure and proactively manage risk
- Apply and interpret Incoterms 2020 (FOB, EXW, CIF, DAP, DDP) correctly across shipments
- Book pallet networks, full loads and courier services
- Issue delivery notes, labels and booking references
- Liaise with hauliers to confirm timings
- Manage delivery exceptions and POD collection
- Maintain ERP and planning systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, Planner, Teams)
- Update shipment trackers and freight cost logs Support customs documentation and LC requirements
- Assist finance with Letter of Credit documentation
- Provide shipment updates to internal stakeholders
- Proven experience in logistics, freight forwarding or import/export administration
- Strong practical understanding of Incoterms 2020 and international shipping processes
- Knowledge of sea freight and airfreight operations (China import experience highly desirable)
- Understanding of customs documentation and clearance procedures
- Experience working with Letters of Credit
- Strong Excel and IT skills
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Knowledge of HS codes, duties and landed cost calculations
- Experience in UK road freight or transport planning
You will be methodical, detail-focused and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach are essential.
