Drive your career forward with a leading NI steel logistics team! Sperrin Galvanisers is hiring experienced HGV Drivers (Class 1 and Class
2) to join our Draperstown, Northern Ireland operation. In this role, you will transport steel across Northern Ireland and nearby border counties, enjoying local routes that get you home each night.

Skills / Qualifications- HGV Licence (Class 1 or Class
2) – Valid Category C+E or C licence is essential. - Driver CPC – Must hold an up-to-date Driver Certificate of Professional Competence card.
- Experience – Minimum 1 year of HGV driving experience (preferably delivering heavy/industrial goods).
- Safe Driving & Transport: Operate a Class 1 or Class 2 HGV to safely transport steel (including multi-drop deliveries and collections) to and from customer sites, ensuring all loads are secure.
- Vehicle Checks: Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance checks, and promptly report any issues.
- Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations.
- Loading/Unloading: Oversee and assist with the safe loading and unloading of steel, ensuring goods are properly secured to prevent shifting in transit.
- Route Planning: Plan routes and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
- Documentation & Communication: Complete all necessary paperwork (delivery records, tachograph logs, etc.) and interact professionally with clients and colleagues, providing updates and coordinating pickups as needed.
- Reliability, adaptability, and strong organisational skills.
- Good communication skills, exceptional concentration, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Positive attitude towards teamwork and customer relations.
- Physical stamina and the ability to assist with manual handling and loading tasks.
