This role offers a mix of evening and weekend hours and includes lots of lovely trips out and activities that Mary loves. £146.04 Gross per Shift (Sunday)

About this client/child:
Mary is a delightful 19-year-old young woman with a wicked sense of humour, a cheeky grin, and a strong personality. She is non-verbal but communicates very clearly in her own way, using gestures, pointing, facial expressions, and by bringing you items such as the DVD she would like to watch. Mary’s communication is supported by using Picture Cards and some Makaton signs to aid communication.

Mary has a Learning Disability and enjoys an active, varied life. She loves getting out and about on trips, engaging in activities she enjoys, as well as spending relaxed time oors, Mary scoots around confidently on her knees and is very comfortable in her home environment. Mary has a strong multidisciplinary team around her, including Behaviour Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, and Occupational Therapy, with excellent training and guidance provided to her support team.
Overview of role:
Mary requires support with all aspects of daily living, care routines, and accessing the community. A big part of this role is enabling Mary to enjoy meaningful activities and outings, responding to her preferences, and supporting her communication in a respectful and empowering way. Support staff work closely with the MDT and follow structured guidance to promote consistency, independence, and positive outcomes.

You will work within her family home and in the community, supporting Mary on a 2:1 basis, encouraging her independence while ensuring her safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment of daily life. We also have two additional roles available, so please let us know your availability. Position 2, Week 1: 6.00pm–10.00pm on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Week 2:
Wednesday and Saturday (6.00pm–10.00pm) and Sunday (8.00am–6.00pm). Position 3, Week 1 Waking night, Monday (10.00pm–8.00am) and Week 2 Saturday (10.00pm–8.00am) with additional ad hoc cover for annual leave and sickness.

This role would suit an experienced
* female Support Worker or someone with some experience supporting a young person or adult with Learning Disabilities who is keen to progress their career in a well-supported environment. You will be calm, patient, observant, and confident using alternative communication methods. A positive attitude, sense of humour, and willingness to learn are essential.
