Social Worker – Planned Care (Child Specialism)

Newly Qualified Social Workers will commence on Grade 9 pay and job description before progressing to grade 10 after 2 years in post. Experienced social workers will commence at Grade 10 pay and job description. Both job descriptions can be viewed below.

This position qualifies for a market supplement payment of £200 per month. Please note this additional payment will be reviewed on 31 March 2026.

We have opportunities in Ceredigion for qualified social workers to work with children and families. As a qualified Social Worker you would work with children on the Child Protection Register, Children Looked After, family court cases to adoption. This long term team provides a variety of work and a commitment to ensure case loads are manageable to ensure quality of your work and relationships with children.

The Authority is committed to a strengths based approach using Signs of Safety and is in the process of transformation to a through-age and whole family model which offers greater flexibility to develop plans & services to meet needs and has resulted in some exciting opportunities for collaborative working between departments within the authority as well as with our partner agencies.

We are seeking Individuals with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. A successful applicant without the required Welsh language skills will be fully supported to reach the desired standard within two years of appointment.
