We are looking for a Crop Protection Product Planner to join the Frontier team, based at Witham St Hughs, on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for sourcing and managing crop protection inputs to support farming operations. The role ensures farmers and agronomy teams have timely access to high-quality, competitively priced herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, biologicals, and related products aligned with seasonal crop programs.

Cycle to Work Scheme, employee retail discount scheme and free eye test vouchers About You Must be BASIS qualified Additional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management is advantageous Practical field experience, including field walking and direct engagement with crop monitoring and agronomy teams Experience in managing stock positions for crop protection products, ensuring optimal availability and inventory turnover Sound understanding of farming cycles and seasonal procurement risks within an agricultural setting Comprehensive understanding of crop protection regulations and environmental considerations related to pesticide use Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful supplier management and commercial outcomes Excellent analytical capability to conduct market analysis, develop pricing strategies, forecast demand, manage cost performance, and demonstrate a practical understanding of crop markets and seasonal dynamics Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with agronomists, farmers, suppliers, and internal teams Strong organisational skills with the ability to accurately manage multiple priorities, seasonal deadlines, and procurement data efficiently Excellent attention to detail, particularly with numerical data High level of integrity, regulatory awareness, and commitment to compliance.
Your Role As a Crop Protection Product Planner your role will involve:
Manage procurement plans aligned with crop cycles and seasonal need. (e.g., planting, in-season application, harvest) Collaborate with Agronomy and Sales teams to forecast demand by crop type. Ensure product availability ahead of and during peak agricultural seasons. Develop buffer stock strategies for weather-driven demand volatility. Manage aged stock positions and stock rotation. Monitor supplier performance in relation to agreed delivery expectations.
Action stock shortfalls in a timely manner. Manage the day-to-day operation of the procurement desk. Support the sourcing of branded and generic crop protection products from manufacturers and formulators. Support commercial team with supplier relationships. Evaluate alternative suppliers where appropriate. Work closely with SLs and agronomists to meet seasonal requirements. Work closely with storekeepers to ensure procurement aligns with regional and seasonal requirements.
Optimize stock levels across the stores network including supplier stores. Monitor expiry dates and manage shelf-life-sensitive products. Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery to farms or retail outlets. Reduce obsolete or slow-moving inventory. Manage inventory levels to agreed financial targets.…
