Rates of Pay: £35,000 - £45,000 + benefits & OT
Reports To:
Site Manager/Project Manager
The Multi-Trade Operative will be responsible for performing a range of skilled construction tasks across various trades, including carpentry, roofing, and general maintenance. The role requires a versatile individual with a broad skill set who can adapt to different tasks and projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare construction sites, including clearing debris and setting up materials.
- Assist in demolition tasks when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness on-site.
- Perform roofing tasks, including repairs and installations.
- Including but not limited too -
- Pitched roofs - slate, tiles, metals
- Flat roofs - felts, single ply membrane, liquid coatings
- Inspect roofs for damage and determine necessary repairs
- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance tasks on construction sites and equipment.
- Address minor repairs and maintenance issues promptly.
- Proven experience in multiple construction trades, with roofing skills as a core requirement
- Relevant trade certifications or qualifications are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and health and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
- Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) checks will be carried out/required to assess the individual criminal history. (proof of this is advantageous)
- Adaptable and flexible to meet the demands of different projects.
- Be able to Coordinate, communicate effectively to minimise disruption to school operations with school staff, administrators
- Committed to delivering high-quality work and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Work is primarily performed on live Education buildings, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions.
- The role may require lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
- Quality and accuracy of completed work.
- Adherence to project timelines and deadlines.
- Compliance with health and safety standards.
- Effective collaboration and communication with team members
