OverviewCyberspace Operations Centre (CyOC) is recruiting a proactive and experienced HQ Security Officer for its Joint Electromagnetic Warfare Core Staff (JEWCS) branch located s role protects NATO assets, including classified information, equipment, and personnel. The incumbent will act as the principal security advisor and coordinate security across JEWCS.
Principal Duties- Act as the Principal Security Advisor (PSyA) and provide security advice and priorities to the Director of JEWCS.
- Serve as Command Security Advisor (CSyA) given JEWCS’s remote location.
- Report any changes in personnel status that may affect security (e.g., financial difficulties or misconduct).
- Serve as principal point of contact for all security violations within JEWCS.
- Produce and maintain JEWCS’s Security Standing Orders.
- Apply NATO security policy requirements for Personnel Security, Security Awareness, Training, Information Security, Physical Security, and security procedures.
- Co‑operate with CIS Security.
- Maintain liaison with Host Nation and international intelligence security services.
- Manage security classification and classification management.
- Chair the JEWCS Security Committee and be a member of the JEWCS Information Knowledge Management Working Group.
- Coordinate JEWCS public relations activities, co‑ordinate visits, and manage conference services.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a national or NATO professional security qualification.
- Experience as a Security Officer in a national military HQ or NATO security staff appointment.
- Experience coordinating personnel security requirements within a national military or NATO position.
- Experience in security awareness, training, and education in a national military or NATO position.
- Experience protecting classified information in a national military or NATO position.
- Experience in physical security, including industrial and construction security.
- Broad experience with office communication and information systems.
- University degree in criminology, police, public or business administration, administration of justice, criminal law, comparative general management, political theory, behavioural or social psychology or related discipline and 2 years of function‑related experience; alternatively higher secondary education and advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification with 4 years post related experience.
- English language proficiency – Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing fluent (SLP = 3333).
- Minimum 2 years experience in a security related role in a NATO organization.
- Extensive working knowledge of NATO and/or ACO security policies.
- Working knowledge of NATO and ACO CIS security policies.
- Relevant courses: NATO Joint Electronic Warfare Course, NATO Security Course, NATO Information Knowledge Management (IKM) Course.
- Articulate and persuasive, with tact and diplomacy.
- Self‑starter, able to work with minimal supervision and rapidly identify issues.
- Strong perception, judgement and ability to handle broad issues while maintaining confidentiality.
- Outstanding task management and communication skills.
- Innovative; capable of creating and instructing security programmes that meet NATO policy and are practical at tactical level.
- Experience presenting to senior audiences (OF‑5 level) and conducting briefings on technical topics, security policies and regulations.
- Capable of supporting security boards/meetings and maintaining productive relations with NATO agencies, industry, and international organisations.
- Operational deployment may exceed 30 days, up to 183 days in any 547‑day period and may be on short notice.
- Post requires an average of 120 days of travel per year.
