RELIEF Retail Security Officer –
Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services

Location: Oxford & Swindon areas (minimum contract in Oxford)

Pay: £14.38 per hour

Shift times: Monday – Saturday 08:00 to 22:00, Sunday 10:00 to 17:00. Flexible; must be able to work any day/time.

Working Conditions: Minimum 8‑hour contract, includes paid breaks and coverage for sickness and holiday absences.

You provide safety and security to our customers' property, people, and assets in line with Assignment Instructions, delivering results that meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators. Provide exceptional customer service to staff and visitors alike, undertake additional training and uphold both Mitie and client reputations.

• Use ASCONE to maintain site security.
• Conduct regular patrols.
• Deliver customer service to staff and visitors.
• Support staff with reasonable requests.
• Ensure relevant reports are completed accurately.

Complete all required competency training and additional training as directed by the Operations Manager. Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.

• Immediately report any hazards or potential hazards.
• Stay alert to threats or changes to reduce disruption risk.
• Proactively diffuse situations to avoid escalation.
• Maintain professional conduct with challenging customers.
• Record detailed incident entries in on‑site system.
• Call emergency services and Control Room for serious incidents.

• Valid Door Supervisor SIA Licence.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to build instant positive connections with store teams.
• Self‑starter, able to act without direction.
• Report writing skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
