Salary and Hours
Shift Leader rate of pay starts at £14.76 per hour, rising to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with flexible options for as few as 12 hours.

- Coordinate the store team to deliver an easy, fuss‑free shopping experience for customers.
- Ensure daily priorities are met, and that colleagues take regular breaks.
- Open and close the store and complete duty cover, making decisions that support safety.
- Act as the main point of contact for colleagues when the manager is absent.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well‑presented store environment.
- Support managers with seasonal, community, and charity events.
- Foster a positive team atmosphere that is inclusive of everyone.
- Provide excellent customer service by listening to and prioritising customers’ needs.
- Communicate store updates, changes, and new information clearly to the team.
- Monitor store performance and identify opportunities to improve and simplify operations.
- Co‑ordinate store improvements, removing obstacles to service.
- Follow health and safety routines and ensure colleagues do the same.
- Recognise and celebrate teammates who provide outstanding service.
- Be a role model, delivering thoughtful customer service that meets every customer’s needs.
- Build strong, long‑lasting relationships with colleagues and create a positive, inclusive culture.
- Communicate clearly, using a range of methods to keep the team informed and updated.
- Take the lead and manage the store in the absence of the manager.
- Make sound decisions, remain flexible, and handle change to protect customers and colleagues.
- Motivate and inspire the team to exceed expectations.
- Stay curious and actively seek ideas to serve customers, communities, and the planet better every day.
- Must be 18 or over.
