Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting the Head Chef with kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food service. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to develop leadership skills within a vibrant hospitality environment.
The Sous Chef will be responsible for maintaining food safety standards, overseeing food production, and supporting the overall management of the kitchen.
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, including chefs and kitchen assistants, fostering a positive team environment
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality standards are met
- Coordinate food production to meet service times and customer expectations
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Support menu development and contribute innovative ideas for new dishes
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory efficiently
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning correctly
- Serve as a role model in professionalism, hospitality, and culinary excellence
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Solid background in kitchen operations, including food safety standards and restaurant experience
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and current trends in hospitality cuisine
- Previous experience in serving customers in a hospitality setting is desirable
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant hospitality certification is preferred
