We are recruiting an experienced and commercially focused Executive Chef for a highly regarded, food-led countryside pub with rooms in Oxfordshire. This is a senior leadership position within an expanding hospitality business known for its commitment to seasonality, quality produce and modern British cooking.
Operating at the top end of the gastropub market, the venue has a strong reputation for food, regularly changing menus and a loyal local and destination driven customer base.
The Role
You will take full ownership of the food operation, leading the kitchen from the front while setting the culinary direction of the business. This role requires a balance of creativity, consistency and strong commercial awareness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a high-performing kitchen team
- Creating seasonal, produce-led menus rooted in modern British cuisine
- Managing GP, labour and kitchen profitability
- Maintaining food safety, compliance and operational standards
- Working closely with senior management on menus and long-term strategy
The Ideal Candidate
- An established Executive Chef or a strong Head Chef ready to step up
- Background in premium gastropubs, country inns or quality restaurants
- Passionate about British produce and seasonal cooking
- A confident leader with strong cost control and organisational skills
